A Tim Nicholls-led LNP Government will keep the Toowoomba community safe with a $3 million investment in police resources.
LNP Shadow Police Minister Tim Mander said an LNP Government would reopen the Newtown Police Beat and build a new police station at Highfields.
“For too long the Darling Downs community has been ignored by Annastacia Palaszczuk and crime is spiralling out of control,” Mr Mander said.
“People are sick to death of the approach taken by Annastacia Palaszczuk on law and order and her inability to keep them safe.“Enough is enough. This is why the LNP has committed $3 million to reopening the Newtown Police Beat and build Highfields police station.
“And it’s only because of the hard work of local member Trevor Watts that these projects will get off the ground.”
I have listened to local community concerns and acted.
The Highfields community is growing at a rapid rate and we need to ensure we have enough police resources to keep them safe now and in the future.
We have seen a number of serious crime incidents on the Darling Downs in recent years and it is critical that we have enough police resources to cope.
Families have told me of the impacts and cost of crime on their lives, which is why I am determined to deliver more police resources to make Toowoomba safe.
Only the LNP will create safe and liveable communities.
