A Tim Nicholls-led LNP Government will boost tourism in Queensland with a $1.5 million Taste Queensland campaign.
LNP Leader Tim Nicholls said revitalising Queensland’s tourism industry and unlocking its potential was a crucial part of the LNP’s plan to Build a Better Queensland.
“Annastacia Palaszczuk and Labor have dropped the ball over the past three years and missed out on a golden era of international and domestic tourism,” Mr Nicholls said.
“We understand that tourism investment and attracting more domestic and international tourists will create jobs and help families get ahead.
“Queensland should be Australia’s number one tourist destination but Labor’s failure to support our tourism sector means we have lost significant ground to other states and territories.”
Mr Nicholls said an LNP Government would invest $1.5 million on a Taste Queensland campaign encouraging domestic and international tourists to visit Queensland’s unique food and wine regions.
“Queensland has so much to offer, from the fruit and wines in the Granite Belt, to the fresh seafood along the Queensland coast – there is something to tantalise everyone’s taste buds,” Mr Nicholls said.
“This is why an LNP Government I lead will invest $1.5 million showcasing Queensland’s unique food and wine regions.
“We will also encourage our domestic and international visitors to take the opportunity to experience Queensland’s diverse agriculture opportunities and enjoy a farm stay.
“Only the LNP will Build a Better Queensland by creating jobs.”
