LNP Leader Deb Frecklington has announced a new funding commitment for Maleny, during a visit to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland today.

One million dollars has been allocated to progress the Maleny Hydrotherapy Centre, the first stage in the region’s new Indoor Aquatic Facility.

Ms Frecklington said the project will have enormous benefits for the region.

“It’s exciting to commit this significant contribution to makes these facilities a reality,” Ms Frecklington said.

“The LNP has worked tirelessly with the community and council to provide improved hydrotherapy and aquatic facilities for everyone in Maleny and surrounds.”

LNP Member for Glass House Andrew Powell said the one-off grant will cover the costs of infrastructure, power, water and the roads needed to access the site.

“The funding will also ensure other stages can be built sooner rather than later,” Mr Powell said.
“The LNP knows the benefits of a healthy and active community and that’s why we’re proud to make this announcement today.”
