On the seventh day of the 12 Days of Christmas Community Giving Campaign, LNP Member for Toowoomba North Trevor Watts joined forces with the Salvation Army Toowoomba Corps to help wrap presents at their gift wrapping stall at Grand Central Shopping Centre.
Mr Watts said the Salvation Army has been wrapping presents for the Toowoomba community for 20 years.
“This is the Salvation Army’s major annual fundraiser, with all proceeds going back to support the Salvo’s community work and support programs in Toowoomba,” Mr Watts said.
“With just over one week to go until Christmas, there’s plenty of time to make a donation to the Salvation Army.
“Gift wrapping stalls will be operating until close of business on Christmas Eve, outside of Kmart and Myer at Grand Central.
“Every gold coin donation from every present wrapped will help the Salvation Army continue their important work in our community.”
Mr Watts commended the Salvation Army Toowoomba Corps and all of the community and not-for-profit organisations across Toowoomba North for supporting individuals and families in need this festive season.
“Christmas can be a difficult time of year for so many people,” he said.
“It’s heart warming to see so many volunteers and organisations coming together to offer support to those doing it tough this Christmas.”
