REVISION OF HIGHFIELDS MASTER PLAN
- Highfields Master Plan submissions considered by TRC
- Watts submitted Petition against the Master Plan
- Hands off our Highfields group opposed to Master Plan
Today is a great day for the Highfields community following the Toowoomba Regional Council’s decision to revise the draft Highfields Cultural Precinct Master Plan. As the community’s strong local voice I am relieved that we have today had this win for common sense.
This is a great outcome for the people of Highfields following months of advocating on behalf of the Highfields community and working in conjunction with local resident Steve Coren and his team, who were instrumental in starting up a Facebook page, Hands off our Highfields soon after Council’s April release of the draft Master Plan.
The voices of the Highfields community have well and truly been heard through the coordinated efforts of HOOH following the submission of a petition with over 2,200 signatures to the Toowoomba Regional Council on their behalf.
Now is our chance to get a Highfields Cultural Precinct Master Plan that the people of Highfields deserve and need, providing a safe and livable community for all.
Working together with my community alongside such a dedicated and committed group of residents today’s decision by Council to revise this draft Master Plan will ensure that this vibrant community of Highfields continues to get the roads and infrastructure we need and want, delivered now and into the future.
